COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Baker joins NeHC to talk about how HIT and health information exchange can assist providers in improving quality and coordination of care. This program discusses the use of health information technology to improve quality and safety, using examples from Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation’s General Internal Medicine Clinic. Dr. Baker also reviews the use of electronic health record data for quality measurement, using EHRs in multifaceted quality improvement strategies, and use of tools to improve communication and care coordination.
