COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The CEO of MedVirginia and the CEO and Executive Director of Quality Health Network discuss their differing approaches to achieving sustainability. Michael Matthews of MedVirginia explains how their decision to be the first HIE to go live on the NwHIN Exchange has allowed them to enjoy successful partnerships with organizations such as the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and the Social Security Administration. Dick Thompson of Quality Health Network discusses how his organization’s unique “medical neighborhoods” strategy ensures long-term sustainability by building shared connectivity costs into their regional expansion strategies.
