Comment on the Meeting
Stakeholder Questions:NHIN Past, Present & Future
- Q from Rob Levy: I assume the NHIN-Direct is meant to be an iterative and incremental development process increasing capabilities and functionaliities over time. Is there a broader or over-arching strategic plan and document?
- Q from Joe Liscinsky: More of a technical nature….as part of the NHIN – a) do you have any technical data around what you recommend/require as the minimum data set that needs to be captured and b) do you have any documents around what you use for de-duplication methodology or protocol?
- Q from Daniel Belletti: when might we expect some report from these NHIN Productin exchange sights (either individually or a collective report)?
- Q from Greg Smith: Can you clarify two issues. 1. Can an eligible professional and hospital meet meaningful use just connecting to the NHIN and 2. How does the NHIN relate to state HIEs and/or regional HIEs
- Q from Raul Recarey: If the NHIN is set up to allow providers (and IDN's) to connect directly and meet meaningful use criteria, what incentives do they have to connect to a State-designated HIE?
- Q from Eduardo Gonzalez Loumiet: Where can we find more information on NHIN Direct?
- Q from Alex Alexander: Question for Doug: Is the NHIN direct a mechanism by individual providers to directly connect to NHIN? if so how do you plan the onborading process to encourage individual providers to understand and adopt/join in NHIN?
- Q from Patricia Valenti: what is the definition of "exchanging data in production"?
- Video comment from Sherry Reynolds: I though that the certification in the interim rule is for vendors EMR's not necessarily for HIE or info exhchanges
- Twitter Q from Sherry Reynolds: (Tweeting #NeHC conference on #NHIN high volume apology) What policies, standards & services do we need to empower consumers?
- Q from Daniel Belletti: Is there planning for the collective of available infomration on the NHIN to become a public use dataset for research?
- Q from Patricia Valenti: what is the process for a private organizations to build solutions around CONNECT?
Who Uses the NHIN Today?
- Q from Cathy Stueckemann: How does HNIN plan to incorporate Pres. Obama's reqt that federal agencies/entities have meaningful tribal consultation on matters impacting them? PPTs seemed to focus only on states/regions, but no reference to inclusion of Tribes/elected nat'l orgs.
- Q from Adele Allison: Can the panel provide any guidance on the types of contracts involved being referenced by the VA?
- Q from Riki Merrick: Is the DURSA publically available, so other efforts could use it as well?
- Q from Cathy Stueckemann: On slide 72, are there arrows missing to indicate bidirectionality, especially from the state DOH to Regenstrief; and from CDC to state DOH?
- Q from Riki Merrick: What SNOMED codes are you using to identify lab results for H1N1 and differentiate between the "seasonal vs pandemic" strains in circulation?
- Q from Riki Merrick: Can you provide a link to the draft specifications, or are thye not publicially available yet?
