The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) this week released a 3-minute animated video for consumers that explains how electronic health records (EHRs) and other health information technologies are upgrading healthcare and giving consumers the opportunity to better manage their own health. The video is currently available on www.healthit.gov and it is one of many ONC efforts to increase consumer awareness about the benefits of health IT.

ONC encourages Consumer Consortium members, along with all healthcare stakeholders, to share this animated video far and wide. A Spanish verson of the animation will be available later this summer.
