The Consumer Consortium on eHealth and ONC
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) recently launched a nationwide campaign to "educate and engage the public on the value and benefits of health information technology (health IT)." As part of this campaign, ONC has asked that organizations pledge to take part in this effort, whether it be through data sharing or consumer outreach, to accelerate the widespread adoption and use of health IT by consumers across the US.

NeHC pledges to educate stakeholders about the benefits of health IT and encourage consumers to leverage health IT tools and resources to gain greater control over their health.
- Through our Consumer Consortium on eHealth, NeHC will provide a collaborative forum for over 200 organizations – consumer groups, providers, payers, employers, technology solution providers, patients, government agencies – to develop and implement a coordinated program to educate and engage with consumers on health IT
- Through NeHC University, NeHC will deliver webinar programs focusing on consumer engagement in health IT, convene multi-stakeholder discussions on the topic, and provide related educational resources on our website
