Representatives from the Office of the National Coordinator and its workforce development grantees from leading universities and community colleges will discuss health IT education and workforce development programs that exist across the country. We will hear from those who develop and administer the programs while discussing the curriculum and benefits of the programs. Panelists will provide case studies on programs at both the community college and university level and how these programs prepare graduates to join the workforce and advance their careers. Speakers on this program will also give their thoughts on the direction of the health IT industry and their opinions on the segments that may see the highest growth in the coming years. This program will kick off a series on Careers in Health IT that will help individuals with all levels of experience in health IT understand what opportunities are currently available, what health IT professional needs employers have, and examples of how career paths in health IT can evolve.
