COURSE DESCRIPTION: 
NeHC will be joined by HIT expert and trends tracker Michael Lake from Circle Square, Inc. to deliver a quarterly briefing on innovations, new developments, and trends in HIT. This is a fast-paced tour of a dozen key trends with over 100 stories pulled from the pages of his widely read monthly reports. As a student in this class, you will review the key market drivers, assess who is winning the EMR wars and why, and review the pace and shape of industry consolidation and forecast how it might continue. You will also look at innovations required to take us beyond the EMR toward clinical practice transformation in accountable care and explore the new technologies supporting the physician-patient relationship and how consumers are getting engaged.
