Program Description
The Spotlight Learning Series is a series of classes designed to provide stakeholders with an in-depth examination of specific initiatives or issues in HIT. This semester, NeHC will convene three different Spotlight Learning series on engaging and timely topics. All three programs will feature case studies on organizations that are leading the way in critical areas of their field. Spotlight Learning Series: HIE Leadership and Sustainability
Description: NeHC's HIE case studies will feature executives from selected HIEs to discuss their organization’s background, business model, critical success factors, key challenges, connectivity strategies, value proposition, impact in their communities, and future outlook.
Spotlight Learning Series: Consumer Engagement and Health IT
Description: This series will feature representatives from selected organizations to discuss how they are taking strong steps to engage consumers. Panelists in this series will discuss their view on the benefits of engaging consumers, their history, key challenges, success stories, and their view on the future of consumer engagement.
Spotlight Learning Series: Update on the Beacon Communities
Description: The Beacon Community grant program is providing funding for 17 communities that have already made progress in developing secure, private, and accurate systems of EHRs and HIE to build and strengthen their health IT infrastructure and exchange capabilities to improve quality, care coordination, and slow the growth of healthcare costs. This series will provide in-depth case studies of the Beacon Community grantees.
