COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the final class of the Spotlight on ACO series, featured speakers will present roadmaps for ACO success and propose future ACO models, with an emphasis on HIT integration and a discussion of how the development of ACOs maps to the stages of Meaningful Use. The discussion will also cover the recent mergers of acute and ambulatory EHR vendors, and payers and HIT vendors, and how they will impact the future makeup of ACO models as well as how primary care physicians have the opportunity to own the ACO model, if they get started quickly. The presentation will conclude with a return to the importance of HIT within ACOs by discussing the progress of current ACO pilot programs.
