Privacy Policy

This policy discloses what information we gather about you when you visit our website or engage in electronic communication with National eHealth Collaborative. It describes how we use that information and how you can control it. By visiting this site, you indicate your assent to NeHC’s Privacy Policy as written here or modified in the future.

Information NeHC gathers and tracks. National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC) collects two kinds of information about users: 1) data that users volunteer by signing up to receive NeHC related news and information or to participate on the NeHC website or 2) aggregated tracking data we collect when users interact with us.

Personal information. We may use the personal information you provide voluntarily to target and send you timely and relevant information about health IT and health information exchange. We never sell, rent or otherwise distribute your email address or any other personally identifiable information that you provide to us under any circumstances.

  • Disclosure: We use CiviSMTP for our bulk email announcements.  Thus, they have potential access to some of the personal information that you supply. Namely, your first and last name, and your email address. We strictly abide by their terms of use and acceptable usage policy. Aggregated tracking information. We analyze visitors’ use of our site by tracking information such as page views, traffic flow, search terms, and click through. We use this information to improve our site. We will not share any information that can identify an individual user.

Cookies. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser when you visit our website. Cookies enable our systems to recognize your computer, so that we can provide you with personalized information and features. We also use cookies to track user traffic patterns. In the course of our collecting analytics information, our third-party web analytics tool provider may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser. You can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies or to block cookies. If you block cookies, you may not be able to use certain site features or functions.

Public Forums Reminder. This site makes public forums, message boards, wikis, and other online tools available to its users. Although we value individual ideas and encourage free expression, NeHC reserves the right to take necessary action to preserve the website’s integrity, such as removing any posting that is vulgar or inappropriate.

Medical Information Disclaimer. Please note that NeHC does not employ medical personnel in their office, nor is this website intended to transmit or dispense individual medical or healthcare advice and information for one’s personal use. If you have a specific question concerning your personal medical or healthcare situation, you are encouraged to contact your physician or health insurance provider.

Our Commitment to Children’s Online Privacy. NeHC does not knowingly accept online personal information from children under the age of 13 or knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to become registered members of our website.

About Links to Other Sites. This website contains links to other websites. NeHC does not control the information collection of websites that can be reached through links from nationalehealth.org. If you have questions about the data collection procedures of linked websites, please contact those organizations directly.

How to unsubscribe from our electronic communications. NeHC provides you with the opportunity to opt-out of any of our communications at any time. All bulk email sent from NeHC will contain a provision allowing you the option to decline receiving future email from NeHC by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link.

Notification of Changes. This privacy policy was put in effect on September 12, 2011. If we change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on nationalehealth.org. If we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users via email. Users will be able to opt-out of any new use of their personal information.
